Over the last few months, we have heard different stories from families right here in Mansfield, Texas.

One morning a few months ago, a dog got out of his backyard. He was hit by a car and ran away before anyone could get to him. For days his family searched for him. They placed his picture on Facebook and asked as many people as they could to share the story to get their beloved pet back home. They went as far as hiring a dog scent company to try to locate his scent. A Go Fund me account was created to cover to help this family recover the cost. Luckily, the dog was found. Although in rough condition, he did live. Along with being hit by a car, and spending days alone trying to survive, this cost was in the thousands of dollars.

Our next story comes from a family whose dog fell ill with heart worms. This veterinarian visit cost the family over $800.00.

Our third family we heard from, spent over $700 treating their dog for hook worms. The dog had to stay at the veterinarian clinic for two nights, which can be costly.
